As a school, our New Year's Resolution is to try to keep parents better informed about what we are teaching at school. Please see attached topic web which show what I will be teaching in the weeks leading up to midterm. Feel free to talk to your child about these topics and see how they're getting on. Luke Last Friday the children performed their drama in front of the school. It was a great success... here are some photos!
Well done to the International Sock and T-Shirt Company (I.S.A.T.C.) from the Alder Class with their great success at the Fingal Youth Enterprise Market in Swords today, Thursday 14th December. They were one of three primary schools in the regional finals. They presented their prototypes to 22 schools and representatives from the business community. Everyone was blown away by their confidence, enthusiasm and communication skills, as well as their great product! They were so proud to come back to us with a trophy and a Kindle Fire for the school, and we were so proud of them as well. What good representatives we have for our school!
Hi all,
This week on Friday we're having our Winter Performances. Please make sure that your children have learned their lines and practiced their tin whistle. They're doing great work and we'll be rehearsing every day this week. Hopefully see you there! The PTA and the pupils of Powerstown ETNS are delighted to announce that our 2nd School Art Exhibition is now on display in our school hall!
The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Winter Wonderland’. The artwork is now beautifully finished, professionally framed and catalogued for display in the school. As well as a great artistic event we are using the exhibition as a fundraiser to help to reduce the cost of swimming lessons for all the families in the school. The pictures are great value at only €10 each. Framed print copies of the originals, which would make a lovely present, will be available to order during the Winter Fair this Friday 8th December. We look forward to seeing everyone there but if you can’t make it & would like to have your child’s picture, send the money in before exhibition day and we will arrange delivery. Art is an area that every child enjoys and the exhibition will be a big social event in the life of the school this year, so please come along, (support our fundraiser) and admire the work of all our talented children! End of a very productive week in 5th class and the race towards Winter Break continues! Don't forget Winter Fair is next Friday. Have a great weekend
