Today Kater4Kidz came to school and took the children for two cooking courses: baking flapjacks and making a pasta bake. It was a great success and a rich learning experience for the children. Check out the video!
We're looking for parent input on upcoming developments in the school. When you visit the Parents' Room in the school, take a look at the noticeboards on the walls and add your ideas for: 1: The Percent for Art Scheme (ideas for art works inside and outside the school) 2: Outdoor Learning (ideas for ways we can develop our outdoor learning spaces) 3: The Library (ideas for our new library) We value your input and it would be great to get as many opinions as possible before we decide on these three developments. The Parents Room is open daily from 08.30am until 2.30pm. Don't forget Coffee Afternoons are every Friday from 1.20pm until 2pm. Powerstown Educate Together National School

Cróna Glynn Acting Principal This month the children will be learning the RSE (Relationships and Sexuality Education) curriculum in class. This part of the curriculum talks about friendship, different types of families, puberty and new life. This curriculum is taught to fifth classes in every school in the country in November and will be taught at an age appropriate level.
There are 9 themes that I will be teaching over the next 5 weeks. I will attach Home-School Links for the themes. These are useful guides that you can use to talk to your child about these themes at home. If you have any queries about RSE, send me an email or class dojo and we can discuss it.
